Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to lead rooftop solar initiatives targeting Chinese-speaking clients in Vietnam. This role is responsible for identifying growth opportunities, building strategic relationships, drive client acquisition and oversee project development for commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop solar installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop rooftop solar opportunities, especially with Chinese-owned businesses and industrial parks
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategy
- Negotiate contracts and manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to project commissioning
- Coordinate with Technical team to conduct site assessments and technical feasibility studies
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, government agencies, and internal teams to ensure timely project execution
- Stay informed about Vietnam’s solar regulations, incentives and market dynamics
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events and client meetings
- Additional tasks may be assigned as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field
- 5 years of experience in business development, preferably in solar or energy sectors
- Proven track record in developing and closing solar projects with clients, especially Chinese clients
- Fluency in English is required; Chinese speaking is a plus
Skills
- Demonstrated excellence in B2B sales, client relationship management and account growth
- Strong cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills
- Solid understanding of rooftop solar systems, net metering, and power purchase agreements
- Ability to take responsibility and work limited supervision
- Exceptional presentation, communication and negotiation skills with a strong commercial mindset
- Familiarity with Chinese business culture and regulatory expectations
Preferred Attributes
- Experience working with Chinese-owned enterprises in Vietnam
- Knowledge of solar project financing and EPC managemen
- Passion for sustainability and renewable energy
