Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to lead rooftop solar initiatives targeting Chinese-speaking clients in Vietnam. This role is responsible for identifying growth opportunities, building strategic relationships, drive client acquisition and oversee project development for commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop solar installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop rooftop solar opportunities, especially with Chinese-owned businesses and industrial parks
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategy
  • Negotiate contracts and manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to project commissioning
  • Coordinate with Technical team to conduct site assessments and technical feasibility studies
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, government agencies, and internal teams to ensure timely project execution
  • Stay informed about Vietnam’s solar regulations, incentives and market dynamics
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events and client meetings
  • Additional tasks may be assigned as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field
  • 5 years of experience in business development, preferably in solar or energy sectors
  • Proven track record in developing and closing solar projects with clients, especially Chinese clients
  • Fluency in English is required; Chinese speaking is a plus

Skills

  • Demonstrated excellence in B2B sales, client relationship management and account growth
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills
  • Solid understanding of rooftop solar systems, net metering, and power purchase agreements
  • Ability to take responsibility and work limited supervision
  • Exceptional presentation, communication and negotiation skills with a strong commercial mindset
  • Familiarity with Chinese business culture and regulatory expectations

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience working with Chinese-owned enterprises in Vietnam
  • Knowledge of solar project financing and EPC managemen
  • Passion for sustainability and renewable energy
