PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
- Work with the Board of Management (BOM) to directly manage and grow a new business for Language Link Vietnam.
- Provide strong leadership and operational expertise.
- Propose strategic directions to drive sustainable business growth.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategy & Business Management
- Business Growth: Responsible for business growth in terms of agreed revenue and profit margins.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with BOM to define long-term vision, annual goals, and roadmaps.
- Business Modeling: Build the business model and identify SWOT.
- Performance Review: Regularly track business performance (weekly/monthly/quarterly), focusing on revenue growth, cost optimization, and profit margins.
- Data & Insights: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial reports, customer behavior, and operational metrics to provide actionable insights.
- Growth Initiatives: Propose and implement initiatives such as new product/service launches, pricing strategies, sales channel diversification, or partnership development.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks (market, financial, operational) and develop contingency plans.
2. Operations Supervision
- Daily Management: Ensure smooth operations across sales, marketing, customer service, and service delivery teams.
- Process Optimization: Standardize and continuously improve internal workflows to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Quality Assurance: Set and monitor service quality benchmarks, ensuring customer satisfaction and consistent brand experience.
- Issue Resolution: Act as escalation point for operational challenges, working cross-functionally to provide timely solutions.
- Resource Allocation: Monitor manpower, budgets, and assets to ensure optimal use for maximum ROI.
3. Market Research & Business Development
- Develop market research and monitor industry trends as well as competitor activities.
- Identify opportunities for new product/service development or market expansion.
- Adjust business strategies based on market insights in collaboration with BOM.
- Expand and strengthen network and partnerships within the education sector, including government authorities and regulatory bodies.
4. Reporting & Collaboration
- Strategic Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to BOM covering business performance, financial results, operational highlights, and market trends.
- Data-driven Insights: Provide deep-dive analysis on KPIs, customer insights, and competitor activities to support BOM decision-making.
- Business Advisory: Recommend new initiatives, corrective actions, or strategic shifts when needed.
- Market Intelligence: Share updates on external market conditions, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities or risks.
- Project Status: Report on progress of key strategic projects, flagging risks or delays, and proposing practical solutions.
- Collaborate with supporting functions (HR, Finance, Marketing, etc.) to ensure business needs are met effectively.
DECISION MAKING
- Operational Decisions: Make day-to-day decisions related to sales, marketing, customer service, and service delivery within the business.
- Resource Allocation: Decide on optimal use of manpower, budget, and assets to ensure efficiency and maximize ROI, within the approved BOM framework.
- Business Adjustments: Adjust short-term tactics (pricing, promotions, channel mix, customer handling) to achieve business targets.
- Leadership: Make decisions on team structure, performance management, and staff development plans.
- Crisis & Risk Handling: First-level decision maker in resolving urgent issues, conflicts, or risks before escalation to BOM.
- Authority Scope: Clear autonomy in business-level execution, while aligning with BOM for high-impact, cross-department, or corporate-level decisions.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
1. Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- MBA or international professional certifications (CFA, PMP, Six Sigma, etc.) are a strong advantage.
2. Experience
- Minimum 5 – 8 years in business management, operations, or strategy, including at least 2 years in a senior management role.
- Proven track record of starting, growing, or managing a business successfully (more than 2 years).
- Solid experience in sales, marketing, customer service, and operations management, preferably in service industries (education, training, consulting, etc.).
- Hands-on experience in market research, competitor analysis, and business development initiatives.
- Strong financial acumen with ability to analyse complex data and translate it into actionable strategies.
- Experience working directly with Board of Management/Board of Directors is highly desirable.
3. Personality & Competencies

- Very good command of English (all skills).

WORKING TIME
- Maximum 44 hours/week, scheduled by the immediate manager according to Admissions requirements.
- Lunch break: 12:00 – 1:00 pm.
- Outside work hours may be required to meet deadlines.
